Lip Gloss
It’s on your lips you want it to be natural!
It took we a while for me to make the switch to a DIY natural lip balm. But now that I have a good and easy recipe down, I am a convert.
Even if you find lip gloss that is all natural and good for you, it most likely still comes in a plastic single use stick.
This is what made me go for something else. I don’t want to keep creating waste. I had a small glass jar from a sandalwood rub that was finished. It can be used over and over again!
Here is the recipe:
All Natural Lip Gloss
1 Tablespoon of all natural beeswax grated – ( I have a good friend that is bee keeper, but if you don’t have that try craft stores – look for 100% natural beeswax)
1 Tablespoon of shea butter or coco butter
1/2 Tablespoon of coconut or jojoba oil ( I used a moist shea butter with Avocado oil in it – so only a couple drops of coconut oil)
Essential oils – I used lemon oil and vanilla essence
Add the beeswax, shea butter and oil to a glass jar – put it in a boiling pot to melt.
Once melted, move quickly and add 3-4 drops of the essential oils of your choice
Transfer quickly to a small glass container and let cool.
Once you have the ingredients at home, it takes less than 10 mins to make.
Try different combinations to see what works for you.
I am going to try adding beet juice to mine, to add some color! – will come back with an update!
